Yuki is a glazed porcelain tile from Master Ceramicists, INAX of Japan.

Yuki is one of the most popular tiles that we stock from Master Ceramicists, INAX of Japan. Yuki is made in Japan using techniques developed by INAX during the last 100 years, when they were formed as a company to make tiles for Frank Lloyd Wright for the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo.

The YU-KI name is from YU meaning glaze and KI meaning seasons. The standard white colour represents winter snow, the red represents summer sun and the black represents the night sky in a mid-autumn day. The gentle curved Yuki Border form is naturally created by using split bamboo, one of the most familiar materials for Japanese people.

Each piece has a slightly concave surface and deep texture.

There is a slight speckling effect on all of the tiles but it’s not so obvious on the black; this combined with a naturally coloured edge on each stick makes for a wall with deep interest.

The white is not a pure white but slightly off; this shade is extremely flexible and compliments almost all other colours, including pure white items close to it.

Mounted vertically, the shape and mesh allow Yuki to be used very easily on curved walls. The mesh also minimises waste, especially if you design in multiples of the stick dimension, you simply cut the mesh with scissors to fit the sheet to the space.

The price is per carton of 12 sheets, with coverage of 1.01m2.

SHIPPING & RETURNS

Shipping is split into 4 main areas, Stock from Japan, Stock from UK, Samples and Petrified Wood from Java.

UK Stock

These tiles represent the minority of choices but the majority by volume of what we sell.

If there is stock, there are a number of options available to you, depending on the destination and number of cartons ordered, the website will work this out for you.

Orders are shipped the same day or next day at the latest, depending on when it’s confirmed.

The time to reach you depends on where you are but UK tends to be next day with the rest of Europe receiving the tiles in under a week. (longer at the moment due to Covid & Brexit)

*** If you are purchasing from outside the UK, please note that due to Brexit, we will no longer charge you VAT. The transport company will collect the VAT directly from you, probably before delivery. There is zero duty on our tiles from Japan whether we ship from the UK or directly to you from Japan.

The website will offer you clear shipping options with costs before asking for any payment.
